Hello everyone.

I have still yet to get my eberspacher d1l running.

I have been scratching me head with it for a while.

I have power to the heater, and can power it up to when it is switched on to vent and the blower works. As soon as I change the switch to heat, the green light comes on but nothing else happens.

I have checked that the fuel pump works and the glow plug works by putting a direct 12v supply to them.

When I turn the eberspacher on to heat, there is no voltage at either the pump or glow plug. Not fans kick in either. I have checked the fuse in the ECU and it is OK. The only thing I can think of is that the room thermostat isn't working, is there a way to bypass this?

Any other thoughts on what I can try. I have tried reading up on it everywhere but no one seems to of had the same problem.

Thanks

Didnt the D1s have a lockout in them if it didnt start after so many tries?

Hi All,

I think it may be important here to clarify what model your heater is - You say it's a D1L, but then you talk about the vent function, and if I remember correctly, the D1L doesn't have a vent function. If I'm right about this, and it's not a D2, then it's most likely a D1LC. All three models are very different from each other in their wiring and operation, and to make an accurate diagnosis, you have to be certain as to which one it is.

Best Regards,

Dave.

I had exactly this at the start of the autumn. Turned it it was a yellow wire coming out if the harness and up to the fuel pump IIRC. Hard to spot as the spade it had fallen off already had another yellow wire there coming from the same place and the broken bit had all but slid down into the wider piece of black insulation. But the symptoms were identical to what you describe, although mine is a D1LC.

I vote for.
Broken flame monitor.

Some call them heat sensor.

If it´s broken "my" eber will not try to start.
I remember you can check it with a ohm meter.

Some one her will tell you how,I do not remember the resistent span it operate in.

:)

Thanks for the ideas so far.

I think, according to this websitehttp://www.letonkinoisvarnish.uk/D1L_Service_1.html that some d1l have a vent function if fitted with a relay to control it. Mine does have the additional relay, so it seems that not all d1l s had this function.

If my memory is correct, the yellow wire is for the thermostat control, which is what I am wondering could be at fault.

I think on that website I just posted mentions how to test the flame detector. I will give that a go. In the meantime if there are any more suggestions......

Cheers
