Morning All
I know this has been disucssed to death but I just need to get it clear in my mind!
I've got a Eber D2 Airtronic 12v heater with 301 controller, about 25 years old. 10 years ago I fitted a second hand ECU as it failed, light use and serviced every few years and when opening hardly any coking etc.. Over the last year its taken a couple attempts to start but fires up and recently stops after 5 mins or so. Serviced it with a service kit, still the same and the fuel pump was intermindently pumping that well so I swapped out the fuel lines with clear lines (so I could see the fuel pump), fitted an inline filter and new fuel pump. Lots of trial and error so I assumed I had locked out the ECU with failed starts but now its running in ventialtion mode all the time and nothing is being pump / no apparent start up sequences.
Trawling the web its either...
.... locked out and can I reset it with a 301 controller
.... the ECU is dead
Big ££££ for an ECU - not a hugh number of 12vs available second hand, instead go for a chinese one at £70 to 80 quid or go for a 7 day controller and establish the error codes and go from there...
