Eating out in W Cowes

Probably visiting during Thur/Fri can anyone recommend a good pub/restraurant for 6 crew do I need to book?

Try the Anchor opposite the Yacht Haven, pub grub and excellent beer with a band on later (Friday) in the stable bar or the Red Duster if you want to go a bit posher

Eating out - West Cowes

Better and more varied menu at the Duke of York pub, good value and good beers too .Up the hill from the yacht Haven or the Wharf.

If you fancy a curry the Indian restaurants are all good.

There is a fantastic fish and chip restaurant opposite the Italian. Great for a hungry crew and the best fish and chips that I know of (try the cider too). You don't have to book but they do get busy

that indian is called the bahar and it was great a couple of years ago but i agree now it very expensive and not that good

Exactly what I was going to say. The food was pretty rubbish, to be frank - we definitely won't go there again. And they're all expensive in Cowes.

The fish and chip shop is good though! The one by Sainsbury's (used to be Somerfield).

Thanks for the responses. I did visit the Indian with Richard Branson (he crews for me!) when last in Cowes; Dec 08 and it was very expensive and mediocre. I look fwd to trying one of the suggested alternatives.

Tonino's Italian was rated number 5 in a national top ten in a motor boat magazine. Very good authentic food....
