I think that it was always the case that we would have easterlies during spring and early summer, with westerlies later, but lately it seems to have been the other way round.When I had my Stella in the 70s I recall that easterlies would start & it would be said that they would stay for quite a while. It was not unusual then. Perhaps some sailors have short memories.
They don’t happen. There is probably some basic physical law that makes them impossible.Re Brighton Marina - I think it's strong SE winds that are to be avoided.
