Eastcruisers!

I blame Full Circle and Morgana for converting us to hankies /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif , if we hadn't been busy sailing with them I'm sure the Birchwood would have been completed by now /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif, but the Debutante has taken priority for a while now . As soon as I re-name and launch her then Trevera can go in the barn for further work

I think this i sthe best I have

Thank you. I'm afraid the name makes a liar of my wife: "Were you?" "Oh yes" she says. "Oh no she wasn't". But of course in 1964 when TG slipped down the slipway, Sunday Night at the London Palladium was all the rage. How many on here are too young to know what I'm talking about?

She looks good Steve , any interest on the sale yet ?

A couple queries - Really the wrong time of year. I wasn't expecting a quick sale as I need to find someone who will appreciate a very sturdy boat with lots of features and character rather than a (not my quote) "Pond skimming piece of tupper" fairprinceseeker /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Anyway, enough of the sales pitch!

I am having fun looking through the boat ads trying to decide what she will be replaced with.

In the spring I will try and talk some of the east coast crowd into taking me out sailing for the day to see if thats a direction I might want to take. I want to leave my options open for what Harlequin's replacement will be.

Steve

Ho ho ho. Do I look soft in the head? (don't answer that); Do I look brave? She's next door.

For the benefit of PyroJames: in the days before Channel 4, there used to be a thing on TV called 'Entertainment'. You watched it for fun. And on Sunday nights at 7.30am, you stoked up the coal on the fire - you were allowed to burn it then, you drew the curtains to keep out of the draft from the gently rotting window frames, sent the children in their bedroom (they did as they were told then) and tuned to ITV for a programme called 'Sunday Night at the London Palladium ('programme' was spelt that way then). As the curtain rose, the Tiller Girls, a leggy dance troop did sychronised high kicks to some popular song or other. Organised by Mr Tiller, they were the Hot Gossip - whoops I'll have to explain them in a miunute, of their day. It was of course in Black and White (rather like the Monochrome Ministrels - you can't say Black and White Minstrels any more) and slightly fuzzy because it was in 475 lines or something rather than 625. So you could say that our boat is named after a man who found the perfect job or you could say that with a tiller which has to be 5' 6" to avoid weather helm, the size of the mem....... made the name obvious.

Actually as I recall, SWMBO in 1964 (when TG was built) was a bit of a cracker.

Oh d**m and its too late to delete.....

Umm I knew 475 was wrong but I remember not caring much at the time. Who counted them in the first place? And why 625? Why not 630? or 600? Wht's the point of it all?
