Just coming to the end of a 2 week holiday in a small resort on the west coast of Corfu. Have so far met a guy in the hotel who crews on a Thames barge based on the Stour, bumped into a couple in Corfu town who are sailing around the Ionian Islands but normally based in tollsbury, and tonight met a guy in the bar who runs a. Small commercial fishing boat out of Ramsgate......what a small world it really is!

It's not just East Coasters.

Our first independent sailing holiday in the Ionian a few years back and we'd ventured to some pleasant Greek fishing village on one of the islands. As we came in to make our bows-to approach a bearded chap was standing there on the dock calling advice to both of us *by name*. Turned out to be the race officer at a GP14 event we'd been to a few months previously on the Tamar who'd remembered and recognised us.

Funny old world.

Where's "Tamar"?

Wouldn't expect an uneducated Englishman to know. I'm one of the God's Wonderful Country missionaries who went East to educate the English, and is it an uphill battle!!!

:D

Uphill? In Essex? Have you joined the Mountain Rescue Team?:p
