What is a netter place to spend the night?

Depends on the wind. If it is strong from the North or North East, I would give West Cowes a miss. West Cowes does have a bit more life than East Cowes though, and better pubs,

But if you fancy something different, try Island Harbour Marina a bit further down the Medina. Easy walk to the Folly pub from there and very countryfied and quiet. 40 min walk into Newport along the banks of the river

Its an easy walk from east cowes to west & the east shower/heads are better.

If you want a peaceful night, less rocking, East Cowes every time and it is only a short walk to the chain ferry which is free for foot passengers if you want to visit West Cowes.....

Also, as alant has already said, the showers are much better.

I love the Isle of Wight from going there as a kid to recent times. Either or there's nothing in it, depends who you're with I guess.
