East Coast to Versemeer

I was beginning to think that too.. I draw 1.6 with a nice fixed keel... Does sound a bit shallow, and with no tide to help us off, we've really gotta be on the ball!!

we draw 2m & its not tidal don`t worry.
all the shallow depth contours are marked with withies as well.
if you are able to cross the North Sea you should be ok there ;)

In the Veersemeer it does go up fairly steeply near the shore.
We headed for an offshore pontoon mooring and there didn't appear to be space on the outside so we headed to the inside and grounded. :o
Still, the nice Dutch folks already on the outside moved to accommodate us.
There were other, smaller, boats who managed to moor on the shore side later.
Free overnight mooring and free mussels for tea. :D

IIRC correctly, originally the Veeresmeer was not given any water circulation at all. Remember nothing like the 'Delta Project' had been attempted before. However, over the years the Veeresmeer has become someting of a 'dead sea' apparently, so a small amount of circulation is gradually being re-introduced to try and improve the water quality.
