East coast sail makers who would come to benfleet to measure up?

I'm going to get new sails for my Bradwell 18 this year, probably from Crusader as I have a quote from them for £650 and I was impressed by the comments on the thread trying to trash them. But I keep hearing how you should get your sails measured up in position for best fit etc, so if anyone knows any sailmakers that would measure up in Benfleet, I will get a quote and if I can afford it, get them made to measure . The other alternative, once we are set free, is I could always sail her round them I guess for measuring up, but thats only if the genny lasts long enough

Mark Self at Advantage Sails Brightlingsea is great, did my Genny and all my sprayhood tent Dodgers etc.

I've seen Paul Lees from Crusader in Bradwell so he does travel. My sails from them have been excellent.

Jeckells will also come to measure up.

Might just take them a few months until there's a much bigger boat to measure up nearby to get there.
They'll then just use the standard sail dimensions for the class.

Steve, Give Kevin at KLS Marine a call. He is based on Canvey and is a member of Island Yacht Club.
I have not had sails of him, but the spray hoods I have had were great and he will definitely come to you .

Round the boom, I like it, simpler and easier than slab reefing on a wee boat like mine.

Made a new headsail and dodgers for my old Cobra 850 and is currently making a new sprayhood and dodgers plus valeting and a new headsail UV strip on Pagan Lady.
Excellent sailmaker, sensible on price and well worth a call!

Just thought I would come back and update this thread. i got a good quote for kemp sails via James above, who came to benfleet and measured up for me. Not only that but when they were delivered early, and I was working up north, he took delivery and then brougt them over and bent them on to check the fit. Great service and great looking sails, it will be like having a new boat!
