Say rivers Roach up to Deben..
Any suggestions as to where are the most attractive places to base a small 18 ft launch.
Have an unfortuante memory of dull fields and lots of mud, but I guess it cant all be like that !

The Orwell is a nice river, very scenic. You've a choice of marinas from Ipswich Haven and Neptune right in Ipswich, then Fox's Marina, Wolverstone Marina, Suffock Yacht Harbour and Shotley.

Tidemill Yacht Harbour is at Woodbridge, on the Deben. The River Deben is my favourite East Coast River and is known as the jewel of Suffolk.

Burnham Yacht Harbour, is where we are, and is a good marina situated in a nice place, but the river isn't so pretty.

Burnham is the most convenient on those two rivers I would think

Ah, I see I didnt express myself too well, but thanks for the start!
I meant which river has most to offer boating with a small launch, though if I keep it on a trailer I guess i can move about.

the humber

can,t go wrong with the humber, Palm trees each side, lovely blue water, trout and tuna jumping, always warm with clear blue skies, virtually no tide and plenty of deep water
