I've been working on a new website aimed at boat owners, designed to build a database of marinas, moorings, harbours and anchorages, and then create an online logbook of your travels between them...

I set it live about half an hour ago...

I've cross posted this on ECF, firstly as you're a fine bunch who will take a look, and secondly, as its the one area where i've added some data already, so perhaps a bit more interesting to the ECF audience...

i'd really appreciate some feedback... especially on any glitches discovered, and on appearance in different browsers (i've tested on a few)... be nice to build up at least a decent east coast reference if nothing else!

Cheers!

the url is : ThreePointFix

Looks good. I'm not into the logging trips stuff personally but, of course, lots of people are. I've already started to fill in the info for my home port (Gravesend) and that is really easy to do. Well thought out and if everyone joins in, it will be very useful.

Looks good to me Neil. The setting of home port seems back to front...can't understand why you have to set country first from the bottom of the list??

I have put a bit of info on Brightlingsea in there...well all that I can remember off the top of my head!

Not having much luck

Updating profile.

Tried to upload 33kb avatar (.jpg) - didn't recognise the format

Tried to enter boat type - Camper & Nicholson 39 - when updated it went to error page with a message about letters & numbers.:o

Tried 3 times - given up for now.

Is it becos I'm on a Mac

forgive me for being stupid but i can see how you add a new harbour but can't seem to be able to add any details to it?

Inability to use anything other than numbers or letters in user names a pain, i wanted an underscore :(

I added a couple of phone numbers to the Shotley entry, i think they'd look neater if the appeared in list format.

Also not into keeping detailed logs, so nothing to add there, but looks like this could be a very useful resource.

Within a country is a region... within a region is a port or estuary, within that port or estuary is a mooring (or marina, harbour or anchorage)... once you've created the mooring, then you will see a link appear to it, and from there you can edit away to your hearts content!..

Let me know which harbour you have created if you are still struggling, and i'll post a direct link to it on here
