Would very much like to know if the water companies/farms etc are paying a going rate for water exactraction, or is it as I suspect, some historic peppercorn pittance set 20 or 30 years ago.
Presume those increases also apply to the Medway and 100% yes to the rolling year.
Looks as though they have also taken into consideration that there are indeed other revenue streams out there that could contribute to spread the financial load a little.

The comercial users have had a result; fees frozen until 2015!
I know they pay more but then again they use the river more.![]()

Their numbers and outings have dropped markedly in recent years.
To my mind they are an important feature to make more folk aware of the River.

Fair enough - we need to keep the river alive.![]()

That's fair then, Leisure users to subsidise commercial users....
.....and how much is the increase for OTHER river users like Fishing/Sailing/Rowing??
Oh you just know that will be like.. ZERO?...(could be wrong?)

I would expect the same increase to apply for unpowered vessels. .
...as our representative, can you ask?
Not that I dont trust them you understand!!
Confirmed that the 6.4% increase applies to ALL registration charges, other than commercial craft, including unpowered - that includes rowboats, Apollo !
Navigation charges for commercial craft have been frozen at 2011 levels until 2015 but they do already pay a 1.8 multiple on standard rate for same sized vessel.
Fishing to be announced later I understand.
Registration packs for 2012 should start being sent out during week commencing 21st November. EA are asking that people respond early to avoid the sort of problems they had this year. They also point out that the registration plate for 2012 should be on the boat and visible from 1st January !
Shame they're not offering an incentive for prompt/early renewals.....or a penalty for late ones beyond a given date.
