Following just received:
Works on Sunbury new lock are running slightly behind schedule. The new lock was due to re-open on the Saturday 17 March 2012 however it is now due to re-open on Thursday 22 March 2012. Please note: Sunbury old lock will remain open during the new lock closure. Passage will be limited to published lock keeper hours of duty.

At the RUG 7 meeting last Tuesday we were informed that Chertsey lock which was scheduled to re-open today, should re-open tomorrow.

Damn!

Can anyone advise what the current lock opening hours are, as had planned on taking the boat to the Moon in Moon in Lower Sunbury for Mothers Day lunch on Sunday? Not sure if it's 1600 or 1700? Hopefully 1700... Thanks!

0915 to 1600 in March
0900 to 1700 in April

Just checked and Chertsey will definitely be open from tomorrow with public power out of hours.

Thanks for the info Tone. Would anyone have the number for the lockie to hand, just want to see when he is planning on taking lunch so we don't get delayed getting there? Hoping we can get in a bit earlier, although they are chockers...

Lock was open until 1630 on the way back, 2 lockies doing the lock on the way down made easy work of the manual lock, quite a bit more work for the one lockie on the way back though... Lovely day out, and great to be back on the river, looking forward to getting my charger repaired and back on board so I can get both fridges fully operational. Thankfully the engineer at the marina had used his own charger to enable us to go out today, thanks Tim Barfield!
