Thinking about it further it’s a boat of very hard work without a crew of strapping youngsters, that boom failing about everything heavy, probably Hscock would have gone for a double wheeled Beneteau given the choice,it’s nice to look at but let someone else sail it?

If I recall correctly Hiscock moved up from his little thirty footer to a Dutch built ketch, very elegant but it was always a problem although he did many miles he returned to a smaller wooden boat built in newzealand

Lot of thought, love and cash has gone into that boat.
Gwen shown launching the boat, taught me to dive 35 years ago and John was a welder by trade. I think this must be their second yacht as they were building a 40ft steelie in Calshot during the mid 80s to sail off around the world.

Found it, Dyarchy in Peter Heaton 'Cruising'. My Dad had this and 'Sailing' also by Peter Heaton, Penguin Paperbacks at 2/- each, along with a brochure for the Nordic Folkboat, long, long ago, when I was tiny in the 50's. Enjoy.
