Those of you who have a DV10ME will know about the engine anode. Does anybody out there know what size spanner I need to undo the unit from the engine block. Mine seems to be in there 'good 'n proper'.

I have faith in Bukh. The 'damn' thing WILL come out complete - I hope!
I have had it apart before but that was when I had the fuel lines disconnected. i could get an adjustable in there then. Now that the fuel is reconnected I can only get a purchase on the nut with an open ended spanner but I didn't know the size i needed. Bukh seem to be on holiday to mid January!

If it goes pear shape I will no doubt be back on the forum for further advice.

Have a very merry Xmas and super new Year to everyone. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was told that if the anode is not coming out then just push it in if you can, it will still do part of it's job wherever it lands?

I've found the best solution is to use a socket on a short extension with a T-bar to provide some leverage. Each time I have done the job, I breathe a sigh of relief when it's finished, because I am so paranoid about crossing the threads or finding the anode stuck - yet the job always seems to go smoothly enough. I reckon that remark will be the kiss of death!

You could well find some bits of anode inside as they seem to waste from the nut and drop off. I cleared 4 or 5 out a couple of years ago and Bukh say they often find them when refurbishing engines. Mine is a DV20 but I believe it is the same anode.
