Thinking of going to Dussledorf boat show this year for the first time,
After some advice.

Is it a 2 day show or can it be done in 1 ?

If 2 days is it better to catch early flight on day 1 stay over night and then home late day 2?

Thinking of going on Saturday / Sunday.

Any cheap hotel recommendations ??

It's a 2 day show really, otherwise you are very rushed.

You do get free public transport to/from the exhibition and the town.

Stay near the Alstadt and have a nice evening.

We are there the first weekend and staying at the Melia hotel at about £120/night/room

Minimum of a 2 day show in my opinion and so much better than LIBS. Everyone speaks English and it is a very friendly show with good food on site at sensible prices.
It is a brilliant layout, everything you want for your type of boating normally all in the same hall.
For example, if you like fishing there is a hall full of gear. If you like chandlery then there is a hall full of that but the best bit has to be Hall 6 where the Superyachts are. That's where we are on stand 6D57 with a 26m Raised Pilot House so drop by and say hello, you will be welcome.

Everyone should go to the Dusseldorf show at least once I reckon

Looking at the exhibitor map, it looks as though Princess have the biggest stand of anyone, with Sunseeker second.

1 day is definitely not enough. IMHO you need 2 full days. Ideally arrive the night before the 1st day and leave in the evening of the 2nd day. That also gives you 2 nights in Dusseldorf itself which is worth a visit

Thanks all for your replies. Hopefully going on the last weekend. Will be a 2 day trip from what everyone on here has said .
Need to find cheap flights from Heathrow

I'll be waiting for you, you know where :)
Not this year, Bart, unfortunately. I've managed to book a week's ski holiday without realising it clashed with the Dusseldorf show
