Just been looking at the digitalised records available on the Lloyds Rgister of Shipping. Very extensive and still expanding.

I came across the Dunedin (not the forumite here). This was an iron sailing ship of 1320 tons launched in Glasgow in 1874. She was an early vessel to bring frozen meat from Australia and New Zealand to the UK and helped start this trade. Her survey reports from 1873 to 1890 are available.
