About 2 o'clock this afternoon.
Anyone on here?
We were sea trialling Basil today prior to paying deposit.
Dufour 40 came close to us with all hands waving.
We are thinking "is there a problem?"
No, apparently the gent standing in the companionway was Basils' original owner!
So that was her original owner, her current owner and her new owner all within 50ft of each other!!
How many 34 year old boats can claim that to fame?
if it was you, or you know who it was, feel free to PM me or post on hear, would love to know some more about her history!

Twas us!

The original owner is my dad, and Basil is 1 year older than me.... She was certainly looking smashing!

So cool!!
As far as I'm aware, Basil has only had 2 previous owners, your Dad and the guy we have bought from, Mervyn. Can you confirm that your dad was the original and first owner? If so, why the name Basil and why the fox silhouette in gold on the blue band at the top of the hull? Obviuos answer would be Basil Brush from the 1970/80's childrens TV show (was your Dad involved in the show?) or is it just a coincidence?
By any chance, would your Dad have any history associated with Basil that he may be able to pass onto us? in particular, i'm not sure if the original Bill of Sale booklet from Westerly Marine is with the existing paperwork.

Thanks for replying, how often can it be said that a boats past, present and future owners are within 50ft of each other!!
