Duck Punt Screwfix paint

First use aluminium primer. This stuff is great for looking after the wood. Then use a regular gloss undercoat, and top it all off with exterior gloss. I personally use Johnsons exterior gloss. They mix it in my local decorating shop. Ive been using this stuff on wee wooden boats for years and it lasts very well indeed.
You had a busy boat building weekend as well then. I made the hull of a 10ft skiff in the same time. Another simple to build boat.

Good luck

Thread drift alert.

Which magazine always used to rate Woolies emulsion paint several grades above Crown paints, when at the time they were both made in the same plant, with the same batch Nos and the only difference was the label on the tin.
-----------------------------

And another slight drift, Macphersons factory site used to be a very large Italian POW camp in 1944.

Back to painting your "Coffin" tin ends of any old gloss mixed with varnish would be ok and if you slap a few coats on to get a good build up, that punt could last for years!

here we go

this is what I shall do

now all I want is some-one to mix me up a pot of camoflage paint like the boat in the film

although it might end up as just grey

To keep it real, you should really use the dazzle camouflage technique.

I painted my tender with garage floor paint two years ago, after reading that some fishermen use it on parts of there boats. No peeling ect yet.
About £10 for 5lts
Lots of mat colours to chose from

I was wondering whether to recommend that as well - tough as boots, painting the inside of my tender with it at the moment but can't tell you yet how it survives until next year...
