Fancy a trip to Rye in the boat, but having been there for the Bonfire on Saturday and seeing the state of the river at Strand Quay during most of the tide, I'm a bit worried about my rather peculiar keel configuration.

The eighties were a great time for big haircuts and odd keels. Here's mine:

Do you reckon this'll sink into the mud - and if so, will it come out again!?! My wife reckons the suction might be too much on the way back out, but I'm convinced she's basing that on other non-related issues.

Cheers

You should be OK on the Rye (east) side of Strand quay with that, the side the river current scours, leaning against the wall for safety. Just possibly also down at Rye Harbour, against the pilings on the east side, depending how big you are. But do check with the HM beforehand: you need to do this anyway as you will be stuffed if there is no space on the wall. Tel 01797 225225.
