Drowning: a deadly calmness

Here's my annual reminder of the symptoms of drowning. Have a safe Easter weekend!

Well done for putting it up again, everyone should read and digest.

And a well one from me too.

It also gives me the opportunity to air one of my pet subjects - Secondary Drowning. I would suggest that you also note his article- http://www.wisegeek.org/what-is-secondary-drowning.htm
Any person who has had an "incident" in water needs observation for some considerable time afterwards to ensure they don't fall victim to this.

Spooky but a timely warning for all boaties. What can you do to avoid secondary drowning?

Whilst working with an oil boom in West Africa from a fast rescue craft the Chief Engineer of our ship fell in. Myself and the second mate were laughing and the Chief got a bit uppity claiming he was drowning and his boots were pulling him down. The 2nd mate pointed and shouted, "Chief! Shark!" Well the Chief shot out the water so fast he nearly cleared our heads. Lol. He was screaming, "Did it get me, did it get me?" We had to stop laughing to tell him there was no shark! :) :)
