As the Ensign posts have started perhaps now is a good time to pose a question regarding the correct etiquette for dressing overall on National Days.

Should the masthead ensign(s) be level with or above the top of the mast?

If necessary send up a midshipman to keep them clear of the VHF aerial and anemometer!

Once asked a RN Commander about this: 'we just get issued a length of bunting 1.3x LOA' was the gist of the answer!
