I hate digital reading. I am learning to use Alibre CAD Pro & the digital online instructions are a nightmare to study. Unfortunately, the three hundred plus pages are too many to print out. If I had been working at one of my old clients offices I would have nipped in early, run a copy off on their high speed printers & got a secretary to book bind them for me.Yes you are correct in this it’s a well known fact that reading and making notes of your previous notes helps to get the facts in ,even physically underlining.I suffer from adhd (self assessment) and find it difficult to to retain stuff I have just read especially on a screen
A book is so much better. Problem is that technical stuff moves apace too fast for authors to write books & be profitable. When I started to learn Wordpress 5 years ago I bought 2 books & found them really good. But Wordpress upped the anti with blocks & the books were out of date. I have a number of books on Excel that I bought to extend my programming knowledge & even those are a little out of date.
My problem even goes to sailing. I love my charts, but there are those that would no longer consider investing in such old technology. To me a chart plotter is the work of the devil & has caused me grief more than once.
