At 75 would it be worth paying a bit more than you want & getting a boat that you do not have to worry about things like dodgy engines etc.? One does not have the time to mess about with maintenance, Get the experts to deal with the jobs & go sailing as much as possible whilst you can. Get a boat for what it is meant- enjoyment. S.d worry because you may have scrimped with some dodgy seller

This is the five-minute course, but may be the 10-minute swearing session to do it

Get the whole of my post on the screen and left-click at the beginning.

Hold down the left mouse key and drag down to the end. As you drag, the selected text will get a blue (possibly another colour, but it doesn't matter) background.

When you get all the text coloured, let go of the mouse, hold down the Ctrl key and press c.

Open your preferred word processor; use Notepad if you haven't got one.

Click somewhere in Notepad, then hold down the Ctrl key and press v.

Bingo, you have a file with all of my post. Save it somewhere where you've got a chance of finding it again, with a name you might remember

Now have a stiff drink to relieve the stress

A sailing boat I was interested in disappeared from the internet and I assumed it had been sold as the seller intimated he hada buyer that was keen and a trial sail had been arranged. Its now back with the same add and price……..should I draw any conclusion from that, cannot go to view as recovering from cataract op so just pondering …what put the keen buyer off?

Our boat is currently on the market. We had a prospective buyer. Two long viewings/inspections, successful sea trial, then they cancelled two survey appointments, then pulled out. They got their deposit back.

No reason was given that satisfied either the broker or us, but the belief is that :-

1. More boat than they could handle as a couple.

or

2. Could not raise the wind.

Deposit was returned as the broker did not want to get a poor report on social media. Nothing travells as fast as bad news.

House sales are different. The Solicitor hold the deposit. If they dont return in case of default, they dont have mush reputation to lose............................

My version…. Put the required section on the screen of your iPad. Press the home button and the top button at the same time.

“Top Button”……..where might that be?……still think a note book ie paper and a pen will give me info I can access without plugging in iPad etc
When I was a student, revising for exams, I found that re writing major points helped me memorise them better. I could also refer to those supplementary notes and it would bring to mind the full details of the subject in hand.
So if Wansy were to write the principle points down on a note pad he would probably etch the subject in to his brain better than just reading the text of the forum. Furthermore the notes will be a reminder of the main text, of what is a very useful article by Stemar

Yes you are correct in this it’s a well known fact that reading and making notes of your previous notes helps to get the facts in ,even physically underlining.I suffer from adhd (self assessment) and find it difficult to to retain stuff I have just read especially on a screen

In that case, here's your version of #33

Get the post up on the screen

Go find your note pad (not Notepad) and pen

Sit down in front of the screen

Realise you haven't got your glasses. Go find them

In the meantime, the computer has got bored and shut itself down. Restart it.

Take pen and notepad and start writing.

The pen doesn't work. Go find one that does.

Someone's tidied up the pens so, by the time you get back, the computer has got bored and shut itself down. Restart it.

Copy the post, restarting the computer as needed.

Pour yourself a drink. You've earned it.

Put the note pad somewhere safe.

Six months later, you can't find the note pad. Go to Top
