My Motor sailer - Sunrider 25 .,.. has a Cobra DSC radio fitted - but after the boat stood for long period during repairs - it looks like it may have suffered.

Once mast was re-stepped and antenna reconnected - I did the 'self-test' ........... all passed except for TX power ....

I will be doing another test later with a handheld to see if it is actually transmitting or not.

Its not a big deal if it has failed - the boat will remain upriver of the bridges - so will not be port areas or seagoing any more. But shame if it has.

Can you make/attach a dummy load to the output? I used to make my own using an array of high wattage carbon resistors (don't use wirewound as they are inductive). You just need 50 ohms capable of dissipating 25 watts (I'd rate it for 50-100 as resistors are cheap). Solder your resistor or array of on the back of a PL259 (or whatever your set uses) then run the test again. I suspect high SWR if the ends of the coax got wet or damaged whilst it was laid up.

I have a special meter that does SWR and various such as power output etc when plugged into the radio ...
