Since launching a couple of weeks ago, I've had quite a few problems - to say the least - with my Sealine 220 ( Volvo 431 petrol )

The current problem is the leg will not raise or lower and there is no display on the trim indicator.

During the winter I replaced the Rev Counter and Voltmeter which are both working fine, HOWEVER, I have found a loose blue wire from the trim indicator not made off. The circuit diagram I have, does not show where this wire goes to so I am at a loss and reluctant to start playing !

Any help would be appreciated ( again )

Hi

Do I assume that the power trim was working before you changed the rev counter and volt meter?

The blue wire from the trim indicator goes to the instrument lighting.

What version of power trim do you have? Version 1 the relays on the trim pump are round and fairly large in size and on version 2 they are smaller automotive type and square(ish) in shape. Depending on which one you have will give us a direction to go in. OK

Do you have the trim switch on a panel or is it on the throttle arm?

If the display is blank the power has been lost to the display, if the relays click but the trim pump does not operate its the fuse from the starter motor blown.

Id say you have disturbed some wire in the process of fiddling behind the dash.

May or may not help......

I couple of years ago I had a problem with one of my 290 legs intermittently not working. Would work fine when first under way then would stop working after about 20 mins. Would do this on every trip.

My problem turned out to be the 'BIG' fuse which on KAD43's sit's on top of the engines. It's an off white thing about an inch long with two largish cables going to it.

As the engines warmed up the fuse would break down, when things cooled it started working again. £8 replacement from keypart sorted it.

Of course took ages to discover it was the fuse cause everytime I tested it it was cold and showed to be OK and was only in a passing conversation with an old seadog I know mentioned he had had a similer problem.

Probably not related but may, just may help in the future.

Kevin.

I think it must be version 2 with square(ish) relays and the trim switch is on the panel.
