Douglas Gill

I've emailed them with a query a few days ago.Still no reply, how long does it usually take?
I use outlook for emails & that has a facility to tell you when the email has been delivered & when it has been read.
It is a pair of tick boxes under options on my version
At least you then know if they are ignoring you. Plus if it gets deleted without being read it reports that as well
If nothing happens when it has been delivered it makes you aware & you do not look bad if you send it again
If it is reported as being read you can later complain they ignored you & give evidence

Emails get so numerous it is easy to loose them. A letter is often far better if you have a problem

I emailed them from their web site last week. I was trying to source a piece if fabric to repair my oilies. They replied within hours and I was able to have a dialogue by email regarding their repair service. After rejecting the repair service offer as too expensive they responded with a generous swatch of the correct fabric FOC which is sufficient for me the effect a repair. Excellent after market service. I will certainly buy Gill again.

That facility only works if the email server at the other end permits it, or the person receiving the email permits automatic response messages to be sent. Most email servers don't allow it because of the potential breach of privacy, and most people block the latter to avoid confirming that their email is a live one to spammers. It usually only works on email sent within a company intranet, and even that was blocked in an upgrade at my last employer for the privacy reason.
