Matnoo's profile talks of a 6.8m boat, which I misread as 8.6m. That being the case then my suggestion that an extralong shaft outboard would be an advantage is rubbish. In fact a long shaft will be ideal but it need not be as big as 9.9hp. 5 or 6 will be enough and 8 ample. At 50 kilos that Yamaha is way too heavy IMHO.
Your variable height bracket is ingenious and I suppose a swing down bracket like mine could be modified to have intermediate positions between up and down but it sounds a bit of a fiddle to keep adjusting it. What I would like is a bigger range as it could do with going a bit deeper at times but also could do with lifting a bit higher so that the prop could be lifted competely clear of the water.
