I think the reason that Garmin have dropped Bluechart is not because the cost of providing charts in Bluechart format on CD or for a dealer to upload to a blank cartridge is prohibitive, but that the Bluechart CD's have been hacked. Garmin only sells maps on preprogrammed cards only, now (I think)

I think you'll find that the change of charting was due to licence withdrawn by Chart Company - not Garmin. Garmin found themselves losing chart supply and had to find another.

The question at the time was - Why ? Garmin if I remember rightly was not forthcoming with convincing answer, leaving many customers holding new but obselete gear.

Nigel,
Are your comments referring back to the withdrawal of G charts? I am complaining about Bluecharts being withdrawn earlier this year. Now they only update the g2 and g2 Vision charts, which are cartridge only as Neil suggested.
