Well guys and girls its officially September 3rd and I'm now 50.
41 of them have at various times been spent covered in anti fouling, salt spray, cold, wet, upset at some fool who should read the colregs, feeling sick whilst trying to navigate, hauling pots, trawls, recovering MOBs,hats, capsized dinghies, towing unfortunates off sandbanks and various run-ins with officaldom.
But I would also have to say that I have also had some of the most glorious days fishing, sailing and motorboating, seeing the look on their faces whilst teaching newbies how to sail and motorboat safely.Seen Sunrises and Sunsets to make you weep with joy, done night passages when you feel that there must be a God to create such a wonderful sky and give you all those shooting stars.
AINT THIS BOATING MALARKY JUST GREAT?
Peter
PS
I INTEND TO GROW OLD DISGRACEFULLY FROM NOW ON.

Very many happy returns

I hope that over the next 50 you continue to offer us such great advice on the forums. I, for one, am very grateful.

Well done, but you are a mere boy yet - lucky devil! I achieved 65 last week and don't feel any different. Start 3 shore based theory classes next week, examining one Yachtmaster candidate on Thursday/Friday and will meet a girlfriend over the weekend. You've hardly started yet! Congratulations.
