I have never , put the boat in with the bung out , or with the lightboard still on .However , I have just done one of the classics .....left my boat garaged and trailered in spain with the Merc V6 outdrive leg in the raised position , but forgot to put a prop under to support the weight.QUESTION-Will the hydraulic seals survive the 6 weeks before I return ?
option B is to beg a local to break in and put a bit of wood under .

thanks guys .
So as I have been told that over a period of weeks the seals may let fluid pass (allowing the leg to drop )and the seals become mis-shapen and stick to the rams is inacurate ?

Agree with above.. not familiar with Mercruiser outdrives, but presumably the thrust of the propeller is transferred through the rams when the leg is trimmed out during high speed runs - if the seals can take that, they can take the weight of the leg raised for the rest of forever...
