Does your boat have one of these?

Well, I just used my e-scooter in anger for the first time ! I went to the market to buy a roast chicken for the dog. It is a lot of fun. A few more miles on the clock and I think I will feel confident

Bravo! Because my kids are on their 2nd pair and when I had a go I promptly fell off and it hurt like hell. Horrid wobbly lethal things.

It's still got 10 inch wheels. I see it can get to 45km/h too. That's an impressive speed to catch a speed wobble on. I hope you have a fantastic dental plan :p I can see Mrs Bouba smacking you round the head with it one day as you wobble back looking like you've been in a pub punch up. Kids are resilient and I swear they can bounce with impunity. Us, not so much. Gimme big wheels, 26 inch and bigger is just fine.

The top legal speed limit here is 25kph. That’s plenty enough for me. I wear a helmet, gloves, fluorescent jacket and have all the lights on (including the disco lights!). Of course I can come off, but I can fall off my bicycle as well, at least my feet are closer to the ground.
But all in all they are dangerous. I just hope I don’t behave like a reckless teenager. Because you are right, the young bounce the old splatter.

While I wouldn't attempt to use one of those things legally or illegally on the Scottish roads near where I keep my boat, Sof (or SoF) is France, not Scotland.

Are any users adequately 3P insured ??
Fancy breaking Messi ‘ s ankle so he can never play at the same level ? Or via a fracture hip killing someones granny who’s kids are adequately lawyered up and goes for everything you have , inc the proceeds of the fire sale of your boat .

Reminds me of the first time in 92 I took a ride on Seadoo jet ski to the SoF to compete in a “ raid “ This a 2 day affair from Marseille to St Trop and back .
We were and I think jet skis still are heavily 3P insured ,Was £5 M back then 28 yrs ago .
Hitting people , hitting T boning a boat , hitting each other etc etc .

Yes, you should be covered for 3rd party liability under your home owners policy, it’s called civil responsibility. You have to inform them of course but it’s the same policy that covers your dog biting someone

The civil side of home a owners Policy is a French requirement .But still a vehicle or cycle 3 P needs checking .
Doubt a member on here UKs house policy covers there boaty toy accident 3P in the Med .
Needs those with a scooter approaching there boat underwriter .

I did with the infamous “ leave your boat unattended thread “ got it in writing , the boundaries of cover they would not refute .

Not my problem as I know the car is fully insured on its way to collect beer . :) It has a separate policy to the boat and properties .

Does this mean that the dog rides the scooter as well?
I want to train him, one of my motivations for buying the scooter is to be able to rescue him if he goes lame on one of his walks. Unfortunately if you saw him go crazy when I took my maiden voyage around the garden then you’d realize this maybe unachievable??‍♂️

Under French law I now have to nobble or hobble or limit my top speed. Just saying you won’t use top gear isn’t enough. I will try re-jetting the carburettor

Electric Scooters are great I have a couple, just don't use them in the wet and be aware of pot holes or any missing grates/ holes in the road or you could break bones or end up under a bus and killed, going fast is easy its the stopping thats the cover bit!
