Using Software On Board on my PC but cant find a way to set an anchor alarm.

The alarm on the Lowrance wouldnt wake me, nor would the depth alarm.

Given that I dragged the other night, I want to set SOB to play something really loud for the alarm if possible.

Cheers

Can I make a suggestion. Knowing you have already moved is not quite the solution. Why not just set a wind alarm and wake up as the gust or weather front occurs.

I also set a paddle wheel boat speed to detect if there is a current. It detects everything from river currents to Tsunamis!

If you have a problem with an alarm being too quiet try using a baby alarm. Way better than running a PC!

Agreed. but knowing you have moved more than 100yards is better than waking up to find yourself in the middle of the bay, or on the beach.

How do I link a baby alarm to a wind or anchor alarm, (dont really know if I have a wind alarm?).

Depends on what instruments you have. Many have a facility to mount an external alarm but you need to read your manual to find out how. If you are using a PC fit an external speaker sited by your bed.

Q: "How do I link a baby alarm to a wind or anchor alarm"

A: Use the same connections when used with a baby. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

THE ANSWER! Re: Does S.O.B. have an anchor alarm??

From SOB support:

To make an Anchor Alarm, set a wpt at your anchor position - which is hard if you're already there! Best way is to make a MOB wpt then edit it and turn it to a anchor wpt. When the wpt button is depressed you can click on the MOB wpt to show the edit form, but you find the Ship's form will open if the
ship and MOB wpt coincide. To avoid opening the Ship's form, hold Ctrl or Shift (can't remember which it was for v3.4) when clicking the MOB with the wpt tool.

Anyway, with the Wpt form opened, press the Alarm button and set the anchor zone radius. Be sure the "Destinate..." button is NOT pressed.

But as for a "loud" alarm, well that is very dependant on your computer running SOB - we get some reports that the alarm is too loud, and others who can't hear it at all. The alarm should be played through your internal PC speaker, which (depending on your installed sound sub-system) you may be
able to configure in Control Panel to direct to external speakers

Cheers
