Sorry, that is a bit of a stretch to call this Stalking.

I know a lot of people who might be curious if some of the heroes we admired growing up still sail. Would it be stalking if someone asked the question has anyone seen Grant Dalton, Alan Gauiter or Paul Cayard still sailing.

I take this as a genuine question out of interest. It made me smile to hear that she still enjoys to go for a sail herself. That is so amazing to hear that the greats of our sport still have a passion to do it only for the love of the sport after they have retired from competition and are doing something else with their lives. There is nothing nefarious in it at all, just a nice thing to know that someone of her experience still likes to get out on the water.
 
I think this thread needs to be closed. Someone puts up an obviously innocent request for info on a sailing legend’s current boaty activities and he/she gets accused of stalking. It’s ridiculous.

Ironically it was the “threat” of thread closure which caused the OP to question what he had done wrong - it seems that he, and perhaps others, weren’t really open to hearing how their choice of language might have come across, and the subsequent contributions like yours mean the thread is kept near the “top” and more likely to be added to! A special case of the Streisand Effect!

He asked a legitimate question about sailing but the went on the ask for unsubstantiated rumours and where she lived.
So not so innocent after all.

If you read the first post he did not ask where she lived. He said the internet (I guess Wiki) said she lived on the Isle of Wight. There was no question other than if she still sails. Yes, he used the word gossip, but I took it to be a general term (perhaps he's not first language English), but I took it to mean sailing-related gossip. He wasn't asking about her personal life, he did not ask specifically where she lived. All it is is a sailor wondering if a hero from their childhood still sailed. Completely innocent and blown totally out of proportion for absolutely no reason.

John Morris thumbed up my OP. - I saw him on TV (news article I think) (or is this Gossip? You snow flake spineless turds?) as a Vicar and Royal Marine in early 2000’s as a yachtmaster instructor passing another soldier for his yachtmaster theory whilst in some desert - I cannot rememerber which war. He deserves respect for so many of the things just mentioned.
STALKING - you jackasses (or is it a small group of bullies) are sailing close to libellous allegations (possibly) ….. but I don’t care. I am sure you will be glad to be rid of me as you did to BrendanS and other betters.
 
Sarabande’s rant about triangulation and stalking seems to have vanished. It is supposedly not possibly to delete entire threads (title especially).
WHY HAS HIS AWFUL POST VANISHED? “Awful” because it accused an innocent person of a crime. Was it libellous? Who is protecting him? I asked if she sailed for pleasure. That was all. All negative posters, you are what you are….. and you will probably never realise what you are. And I am glad I following the likes of Dylan Winter, BrendanS and leaving. Too many new people on here with weird views.

You'll find the post you say is awful and has vanished if you look hard enough, and want to find it.

So kind. I forgot I had placed him on ignore list. I have so much to thank you for. I wonder if it will remain for other innocent people to read and perhaps learn from OR will this all be swept under the rug. Screenshots taken. Emails saved. Owners of forum will be emailed when I feel like it. I don’t like bullies - especially ones that spout nonsense and libellous twaddle ….. I am still not swearing OR calling people names such as those that have been levelled at me. Have a cuppa
