Does Dane Ellen sail?

Yes, perception may be reality in the mind of the reader. The reader may be insane for all I know. The statement is ridiculous however. So the readers that took exception have strange perceptions (and false ones) and must by the definition touted strange realities. There are weird people out there , I know I am not one of them.
I am out and refuse any more bait. What a bunch of nonsense. As admin said ‘non event’.
Yes, a non event, there's some strange people about......

This has to be one of the most surreal threads ever. There is nothing ‘creepy’ about the OP. It’s perfectly normal for someone interested in sailing to wonder if a person famous for his or her sailing achievements of old is still sailing. Goodness me, you’re a paranoid lot! This is a sailing forum folks, not social media, let’s try to keep it real eh?

I re-read my post many times to find fault. It is all in your head I am afraid. Very sad. (and I did not ask WHERE she sailed merely if she sailed for pleasure) - you made that up. And perception is not reality….. ridiculous statement.
It looked odd to me as well. Perhaps that some find it odd and the OP doesn't could give cause to a learning opportunity

I am puzzled about why asking for gossip?
That seems to want more information than does she sail and is possibly asking for other personal information.

She’s sometimes to be seen sailing a scow in Newtown Creek.
After the last big bank crash I idly looked at properties in Beaulieu to see if something waterfront, with a boathouse, floating dock, a couple of modest bedrooms and 15t slipway had become any less unaffordable.
Sadly not.
A Scow at the end of the garden sounds much more sensible.

One of the least pleasant practices of managing or being responsible for IT in large organisations such as companies, universities, and schools is finding the amount of gossipy curiosity that can turn, by triangulation, into stalking and harassment.

As a very general rule, one such event is a wildcard, two is a coincidence, and three is a pattern.

It really is difficult to understand why anyone might wish to know whether a well-known person follows any particular activity, or where s/he lives or works, especially when there have been some previous references
about the object of the enquiry.

I strongly believe that forum users should avoid seeking or giving info about a person or a boat or location where such information can lead, by triangulation, to supporting stalking or harassment.

We have a rule which includes the word "harassment" but it is an area which has not kept pace with the growth in Internet deployment for the darker uses of finding answers to gossipy questions.

I think the OP gas been banned before and posted that they couldn't understand why. Perhaps this thread will be useful for self reflection.

Not many of us can compete with the likes of John Illsley, who has a rather nice arts and crafts pile up there. We have a sailing dinghy in the garden, but it needs to be wheeled 50m to the slipway into the open sea.

Gotta love a decent bit of arts n crafts. Doesn’t he have a rather good pub thereabouts still?
I mean a pub. Not a still inside a pub, ahem.
By the way I have a lovely dinghy in my garden too. If I give the trailer a decent jockey wheel and a good push ( and subject to there being no traffic coming up the hill) I reckon it would self launch at impressive speed.
Btw I am ambivalent about EMcA address, perhaps edit it out as I did in my quote

I clicked on the title out of curiosity, wondering who on earth "Dane Ellen" was. I then worked out, from the link, that it was Dame Ellen MacArthur. I'm not particularly interested in whether she still sails, or where she resides.
The OP's clickbait title worked, though!(y)

This thread highlights the over woke getting offended for people when those people may not even be offended themselves problem we have in society at the moment. I find the original post a very valid question. It's pretty normal for sailing fans to wonder if someone who was at the epicentre of the offshore world for a number of years. Arguably the closest anyone non-french person has come to winning the Vendeé Globe, Fastest person to sail single handed non-stop around the world and quite famously moved onto promoting the circular economy.

If you see anything of Ellen McArthur these days it's in relation to the Circular Economy, I've not even heard much about the Trust in recent years. I would love to hear if she still enjoys sailing. This is after all what gave her the profile and the inspiration for her Circular Economy journey so asking if she still sails is something that I guess a lot of us are curious about. I think the only "gossip" the OP was talking about was in terms of knowing if she still sails. Something that I am also quite curious to know. Not for any weird reason other than to think it is really cool if someone so well known for sailing and who has achieved so much still loves the sport that most of us hopefully do.

I think some people prefer building mountains out of molehills though.

So, to return to the original question- does she still sail? I wonder if it’s a bit of a busman’s holiday for these ‘superstar’ (at least to us lot) sailors.
