Are you spending Christmas day aboard

I know of 2 couples in our marina that do but wondered if anyone on here does, last year we went down boxing day for a week but this year we are off to Scotland for a bit of a road trip

Not this year, but we have, many times. Even had a stupid bloody huge Christmas tree in the cockpit, coz SWMBO wanted it. Had to cut 6" off the top to get the canopy over it!!

Going out for a two day mini cruise on 28th dec, assuming river conditions allow. (Red boards at the moment.. :( )

If there is some sun on Christmas day we plan to pay a visit to the boat , which is less than a mile from home.

We will see the new year in afloat.

Lived aboard for 19 years but never managed a Christmas afloat. Always seemed to be family committments which meant I was anywhere but the boat.

Yes,on Spotty again this year at East Cowes Marina.
Go up the pub at midday, drop of Christmas cheer, then back to cook the grub- perfect.
Boxing day, jump on the Rib to watch Tim Griffin enjoy a swim in aid of charity, followed by more Christmas cheer.

Dependant on weather but if nice will take a pre xmas lunch run out to the Needles and back with extended family, maybe a little hot toddy if it's a bit chilly:encouragement:

Not Christmas....for some reason it has never appealed as we really enjoy the day at home.

Will be aboard for New Year though :)

Normally do Herm on Boxing Day..
As Piers said, CI last year it was great weather..
This year the boat is up for a bit of TLC in the outdrive area.. nothing serious.
Preventative more than essential I suppose.
When you have something 25 yrs plus old... and a single !! You have to be careful.
Best Wishes, Festive Greetings and all that.

I totally agree! I have my eye on something 25 years old and a single right now. My particular one is in a bottle from Islay though........
I'd love to enjoy Christmas aboard, but I think we need to upgrade to something bigger than 19' first.
Have a good Christmas aboard, everyone that does manage it though.

I'm still wondering where this is going... ;)

Hey, where are the moderators when you need them? :ambivalence:

Enjoy your special 25 year old. :encouragement:

We also plan to be down or New Year. Happy Christmas & New Year to all.:encouragement:

Going to the boat in a minute!! Although only to apply another thin coat of varnish to the lower helm and switchboard, then off to family. Going out on 28th, so need to get the full five coats of varnish done by then. Today is coat three...:)
