I have these 2 large holes in my transom, they go right through to the cockpit

They are not on any other seamaster 925 I have seen

Does anyone know what they are for?

Just curious
. Thanks

The cockpit already has drains on the cockpit floor though
These things enter the cockpit about half way up, there would need to be a lot of water in the cockpit before they drained anything

Thanks

Could they be fairleads for wind steering system that is now absent?
I still think cockpit drains. How high are your wash boards?

They bottom of the washboards are about 450mm from cockpit floor and there pipes come through around 200 mm from cockpit floor

I asked the previous owner, he said he had no idea what they were for either

Do they go into straight tubes which may be much narrower further forwards?
They could be for danbuoys for the liferings.
A lot of boats have one, usually a bit higher up and to the side.

Perhaps a previous owner had experienced the North Sea leaving the odd cubic metre in the cockpit every 7th wave and decided more drainage desirable.

No same diameter all the way through - it's a plastic pipe
If it doesn't go anywhere, it could still be danbuoy holders.
Other wise, it could be engine space vents or something?
Possibly related to a heating system? Back in the 90s I had a calor gas system with two transom poers but they were much smaller.
Mountings for some davits or self steering is possible.
The ingenuity of previous owners knows few limits.

I have a gas locker drain, bilge pump outlet and engine exhaust coming through my transom. Nothing close to looking like your bits though.

The various other suggestions might explain the transom end of things, but since these are pipes right through into the cockpit I can't see that they can be anything but heavy-weather drains. The fact they aren't right at the bottom doesn't matter; the standard drains can handle the last few inches.

Drains makes no sense at all; if you want more capacity the floor of the cockpit is high enough to put the extra drains near or at floor level with little risk of back flooding unless you are well beyond hull speed and pulling a tsunami-sized stern wake, and if that is a concern a rubber flap on the outside stops it dead.
