Does anyone know the oil-change intervals on Honda suitcase generators

I have been trying to find out what this is and getting conflicting answers.

Honda'a own EU10i and several "authorised" clones use the same engine but I have been told that they need the (unfiltered) oil changing at as little as every 20hrs to as much as 6 months (although I think that 6mths is an out-of-service maintenance regieme) I really need to know for if it IS 20hrs, you could easily do that in a week on a cruising boat so that would make a two stroke far more sense for such an application unless you want to carry large quantities of 10W40.

Why did Honda stop making that little 2T lightweight genny?

Maint Sked for the EU2000i is first month or 20 hrs. After that 6 mo or 100hrs.

I wouldent have thought it would be as little as 20hrs.
I used to hire them out when with a tool hire company and Im sure if the oil was changed every 3mths it was the height of it
It is a few yrs ago since I was there, is that the one with the inverter built in?

Yes that little 49cc engine gets connected to various generator/inverters.

Problem is in getting to actually view the handbook first before buying - especially with on-line purchases.

Sounds as if I've been hearing a bit of "anti" propaganda on the "20hrs" front. I think that 20hrs is for the first service when it is important to empty out the "gold paint" that is the rough bits of the bearings being taken away. 6 months as a regular schedule sounds much more plausible but then again, with no filter and daily use, it could do a lot of hours in 6 months.
