The inspiration for the Boomerang was actually from NormanS in a thread 1 or 2 years ago - credit where it is due. Obviously the Oscalatti device is similar but overly complicated, think more expensive. There is another device in America, whose name I forget but similar to Oacalatti, and Ultra have their flip swivel - and if the Oscalatti device is expensive, do not look at this latter.
An 8mm version of the Boomerang was tested to destruction - it failed at just under 9t.
I made a 3 or 4 prototypes, one of which was much shorter (but still works). They area easy to make, you need to get the angle right, 45 degrees, and the holes for the shackles need to be big enough. An angle grinder, drill and Dremel work well.
