Does anyone have a lagoon 450 in the UK

There's a very active Lagoon Owner's group on Facebook. You might want to ask on there.

If that's the same 450 as my neighbour's in my marina, it will have the rudders mounted forward of the propellors.

Richard

I had noted that, but I don't think it is unique as it allows more accomodation.

Does it matter?

I think ours is like yours, props ahead of the rudders. For close quarter manoeuvring we would use the engines any way, if you are sailing does it matter, if you are running under engine power and autopilot - again does it matter - even if it looks wrong.

I have no experience of it

It matters when you try reverse, but you'll get used to it quick enough.

Thanks Pete,

I was going, and will do later, to have another look at the vid and had not realised they used, or could use 2 poles. They also have a topping lift for the pole, they either had extra halyards or retrofitted that as well.

On the east coast of Oz the wind too often parallels the coast, the bad weather comes up the coast from the south and in the summer the seabreeze develops from the north. Not ideal for a multihull. I had thought of a pole and had been mulling over how to do it. We have the extra halyards, we have one for a storm jib and we are set up to fly a spinnaker (without pole) - but its hard work (pole less)) with only 2 of us.

Thanks,

Jonathan
