Does anyone ever go to sea on a metcheck forecast

Consign Metcheck to the bin.
I used to use it all the time. Now I use http://www.xcweather.co.uk

I think xcweather.co.uk is alright for the current weather but not too good for forecasts.

My (current) favourite website is www.yr.no - simple and reasonably accurate and even simpler to type in!

(no doubt somebody will have a different recommendation!!)

Does no one ever use the Met office, its the place I always go to first, and I think gives one at least the confidence that it is'nt put together in someones bedroom using a ouija board.

A big factor on which web site to use is how easy it is from a mobile phone?
At work I can trawl around a variety of weather sites on the PC but from the boat it's always via a Mobile.
BBC is never on my list of web sites to check. (I suspect you may have suggested them cynically.)

Usually use MetOfice for Surface pressure charts and XC Weather and BrambleMet/Chimet.

I've only just acquired a phone that can handle the tinterweb so this is not an issue I've had to deal with.

But honestly I was being sincere, the BBC has the North Atlantic synoptics, the shipping forecast, the inshore waters forecast, plus local forecasts for just about anywhere you care to name. It's exactly the same info as supplied by the met office except I find it easier to navigate and read.

Used to be a Metcheck subscriber. It used to be about the best weather site going. Neither applies any more! In fact, Metcheck isn't even on my list of weather sites any more

I used to use them, but there were so many days where winds were 250 mph + that is became difficult to trust any of their forecasts.

WindGuru and XCWeather are now my main goto sites.
