Does a standard 3 blade fixed prop on a volvo penta sail drive have a prop anode ?

You dont say what model engine you have but I Think you will find that the sail drive is insulated from the engine in the case of a D2-75 and 150S as are various other VP models

A fresh water cooled engine would not have anodes in the waterways , anymore than your car does, it should be protected by the corrosion inhibitor in the coolant.

The design and material used in the construction of VP heat exchangers are such that they do not usually require an anode.

Correct , a D2-75C and 150s fresh water cooled

This doesn't help the OP but I have a Yanmar saildrive with aluminium prop with just a saildrive anode. My aluminium prop is getting eaten away more and more each year. I've no solution – wish I did.

VicS - Mine is 2003 freashwater cooled so no need for engine anode as you say. I dismantled the heat exchanger two seasons ago - perfect. No sign of any insulation between engine and gearbox, not sure how that might be achieved with bolts connecting both parts. How is that done ?

You are right the insualated system came later with the MD 2010 2020 etc range although not the early versions

Done with insulated spacers and bushes and an insulating coupling between the flywheel and the gearbox input shaft
