Does a 36ft boat have a bigger headsail bolt rope than a 31ft boat?

My mate is trying to bring his new Southerly 115 back to the east coast from Brighton. His headsail shredded (don’t know how yet) and I’ve offered to send mine down. His luff is 42ft, mine is 37ft, so not perfect but should get him home. Is a larger sail likely to have a larger bolt rope? Obviously I’ll get him to measure his but I’m just thinking aloud really

Y our sail should certainly fly on his longer luff. The deciding factor is the (presumably) furling gear foil specification. For instance a Furlex 300s (mine) will take from 4.5mm up to 5.5mm bolt rope. You need to find out the marque of the gear in this case and check this spec against the actual bolt rope. There's a high chance it will fit but if it's too slack, outside the spec, in the foil there's a risk it will peel in a stiff breeze.
