£230 !

My word that is cheap for two oblongs of acrylic that a decent home sewing machine should cope with.

Victor Meldrew would not believe it!

Go on, do what Jules suggests. Make them yourself then post a picture of your lovely new home made dodgers here, and gloat about how little they cost.

Re: £230 !

Compared to making them myself, and considering the price of my own time (taking into account the time required to put in all the eyelets, cut out the lettering, sew on 20 letters, etc etc.) you are right, they were very cheap indeed. I was more than happy, thank you.

Re: £230 !

Ouch! I've just paid US$ 56 for the dodgers for the new boat!

In fact I didnt pay at all - they added them to the order for the sail inventory - not a BIG discount on an 11 sail order - but the thought was nice!

I believe there is a pair floating around somewhere off Cherbourg, though you may need to unpick the words "Rosa" and "Glen" from them................

Re: £230 !

By comparison to the cost of a new boat, the manufacturer is hardly losing out by selling dodgers to you at $56. However, you couldn't go to a supplier and buy just a set of dodgers including lettering for that price, even in the US.
