Whether 'OXO' a.k.a. '080' works on its own depends upon the cleats. On many Swedish built (sailing) boats where there is a bigger gap under the cleats OXO will work off quite quickly.

I tried it last year on a Najad just to confirm what I already knew after I'd seen an opiniated post about never using a locking turn. Had a cup of tea and watched the line fall off within ten minutes.

If you can give the last turn a good tug and jam it under the horn of the cleat and the previous turns OXO should be good enough. If not put a locking turn on, but only after having put on enough turns (OXO would be good enough) so that the locking turn isn't under so much force it'll jam solid.

Use OXO on all the boats even the 92 but the last O wants to be a lock on the cleat not just a turn.

exactly but most refer to OX and a locking turn as OXO as the locking turn apears as the final O in OXO
