Well I certainly have !

Last outing before boat lifts .... we had water over the deck and ran down into cockpit ... some of which ran round the 92sv mounted in the fwd bulkhead .. display then just went nuts ..

No amount of touch screen / button pressing did anything - other than switch off completely and then power back on ...

Ended up repeating so often - we gave up with it ....

Just been checking out the IPX7 rating ..... interesting ..... its rated at immersed to maximum 30 mins to depth up to 1m. BUT does not include splashed or running water protection !!

I have been considering a sun shade over the screen - so that will help 'deflect' any running water away as well.

The IPX7 rating means "that the device can be submerged in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes without any damage"

It does not mean that you can have water running over the decks and down the screen and still expect the touch screen to work as normal. I think that's an unrealistic expectation.

The Active Captain updating can be a bit clunky, but i've found a little patience usually helps. Wait a little while between the steps of connecting back and forth from the plotter to the internet and vice-versa. The app is better than it used to be, but could certainly do with a little more work.

I was actually one who posted about the IP rating ages ago and its misinterpretation .... as you say - water running down the screen is not IP67 ..

Sounds daft - but true.

But this unit is designed to be mounted in the cockpit .. bulkhead or wheel pedastle .. so IMHO this problem should not occur.

Its not that touch screen stops working - its the screen stops displaying chart .. stops route etc etc .. in half the incidents - the screen broke up into fragmented rainbow bands ...

Its not a deluge of water ... its a number of lines of water trickling down the screen ..
