Do you have a "yacht "or a "sailing boat"?

When talking about my boat I tend to feel yacht sounds uppity/gives a wrong impression of an old sailing boat so I use the term "old sailing boat". Am alone in feeling that the term yacht gives the wrong impression of a small sailing boat to the general public?
The current appropriate term, I believe, is " they/them". Oops, sorry, wrong argument.

For me it depends on circumstances. Far too often, right now, as I deal with the consequences of the previous owner's deferred maintenance, it's That Bloody Thing, or words to that effect.

Some years ago Madame tutored French. One of her snottier clients said to here one day, "We went to St Tropez for the weekend, what do you do?" "Oh, we sailed to Cowes on my husband's yacht" "Oh..."

Madame felt it unnecessary to mention that the yacht in question was slightly tatty Snapdragon 24
