I do. Last night I was out in my currently being rebuilt "new" boat. Instead of the new Vetus 250hp lump sitting in it's crate in the workshop we had a pair of knackered Volvo B series petrols and a mess of very dodgy wiring. We were in the channel and I was pottering along trying to get out of the way of a large freighter and then remembered we could do more than five knots so opened up and shot off after the other boats we were with. Then one engine started playing up with very high oil pressure but by then we were going up a river and trying to avoid loads of other boats and rope in the water. Then I was swimming along as you do in dreams and Southend pier was also involved. Is it me or is this normal?
Merry Christmas!

I tend not to have boating dreams, and instead have boating nightmares! Most recently I was replacing a rotten piece of plywood in the aft cabin roof when I discovered the entire deck needed replacing as it came away in my hands like papier maché. The relief when I woke up was palpable.

It's perfectly Normal Guys
If You have a boat yer a Dreamer
End of!

Yes, I only dream when I am awake. As far as sleep goes, I put my head on the pillow and then I open my eyes and it is morning. I always thought this was rather sad and life would be better if I had some dreams to give the impression of time.

Yes. Always sleep better aboard. Too quiet in the house.

Thats quite strange, I sleep well aboard also but have an eye and an ear half open to what is going on. If the night is fine I wake up in the morning as if I was sleeping in a king size bed at home (berth is about 2.5' wide on board), but if there is a change or a new noise I will wake just long enough to check it out. I always feel sleepy on a boat as it seems to rock soothingly. At home it would take an earthquake and an atomic bomb to wake me.

I very often dream about my boat before I fall asleep, visualising the ritual of starting the engines, casting off, and then cruising out on a bright sunny day, with a cloudless sky, a gentle breeze and a mill-pond like sea. That is my idyll !!

I have daydreams that I win big Euro Lottery jackpot and buy something like this to take friends and family on for the rest of my life.
