Hmmm...Anyone like to try it out? Lol.

.From /r/WatchandLearn, it's a subreddit for cool gifs and videos that teach you something.
For anyone confused, the steps are:
Take off pants.
Tie pant legs together, double knot.
Wear pant legs around neck.
Make sure fly-side is facing down, helps to prevent air leaking.
Open waist of pants.
Hit water with scooped hand to push air into pants waist until full.
Hold pants waist closed and float.
This is just for emergency situations of course, for you to wait until rescue comes.
You hit the water because blowing up the pants would just exhaust you unnecessarily. Floating with this method could save your life after a crash and conserve your energy not having to swim.
Energy you can use to kick at any hungry sharks

I remember having to learn that with the school in a swimming pool to gain a life saving badge lol. It does work. (in a pool) :D

There are indeed some very ' interesting ' gfycat's on Reddit; do you visit their site?

No, never been to Reddit, never even heard of gfycat before, it was just that when the video finished is showed a few others relating to pants that it though I might be interested in. One or two caught my eye ;)

There are some very good debates on https://www.reddit.com

Highly recommend it , and anything you could possibly be interested in is covered in a sub-reddit somewhere: 12 million subscribers.

Not seen the hitting the water bit. We were taught to scoop air in by pulling the tied trousers through the air quickly and sealing in the water. I suspect it may be easier in rougher water.

That was in the mid 90s.
