Well, SWMBO and I are now qualified OW divers thanks to Fiskardo Divers. I can't recommend them enough. Cedric is a real character and the others working with him are a good bunch of people. Our instructor was Jack, who's spending the season with them. Relatively young, but a thoroughly good instructor.

Course was €400, which is on the cheaper end of the scale, though we did also buy the book, which was a further €40. Just one between the two of us, though, which is ok. If you're really skint, though, they can usually lend you a copy.

Edit: Almost forgot! They also let us use their washing machine and shower facilities during our stay, including once we'd finished the course. SWMBO was very happy!

Good for you. Completed my OW Course yesterday with Oyster Diving in the UK for about the same price. They too were excellent.

On the other hand, we did it at Wraysbury Dive Centre. The Vis was about 0.5m and the facilities were CARP (apparently there was a carp in the Lake but it would have had to attack me to see it!!!) and two of the staff there were very rude. I will never go there again but I do look forwards to floating around in the nice clear, warm waters of the Ionian...

Congratulations!

Definitely much nicer diving out here. Granted, there isn't shedloads of wildlife, but the visibility is amazing. During our course, we were able to see some scorpion fish, loads of starfish, a moray eel, an octopus, various types of plant life, the remnants of a WW2 plane, and a wrecked barge. Not too shabby!

PADI Diving in Paxos

My partner and I have just completed our PADI open water diving course with Babis of Water Planet in Gaios on Paxos. I would recommend him to anyone, he cares more about the diving than the money.
It cost us 300 euro each for as long as it took for us to fully understand what he was teaching us. See www.waterplanet.gr, no connection just a happy customer.
